I Wrote A Pretty Great Novel But Didn’t Really Talk About It
Last year, I wrote the first book of my novel, Secrets Between Us, and self-published it online. I was very excited about this book. It is a great plot with fucked-up characters that you start to feel for, and it has several steamy fuck scenes that would make the ready squirm in their seat whilst reading it. But I didn’t tell anyone about it. Yes, I did post it on my social media pages and tell some of my fans, but I didn’t talk about it for more than a few weeks. I think I know why.
As I began to write a new novel, completely putting aside continuing the second installment of the SBU series, I thought about my first novel. Why didn’t I tell anyone about this novel? Why didn’t everyone I know or talked to know about this amazing short novel I wrote, illustrated, and published myself? And the answer is right in my throat! I didn’t think anyone would care about my erotic novel. The novel has 4.7 stars on Amazon right now. And yet, I surmised, with no evidence, that no one would care about my work.
The Imagination Prison
It is a realization of how I put myself in this imaginary prison of what I am allowed to do and what I am not allowed to be. It makes me realize how much of my identity has been Goddess Aspen Aires, Empress Lahari, and Queen Black Mamba—that my imagination has been so concentrated there, that I didn’t think making room for other worlds would be nurtured. However, this is not true. I am an amazing storyteller. My new novel is more sci-fi than erotic and is a testament to my storytelling.
All this to say, dear fans, a change has happened to me. I think it is because I have been away from the noise of social media and its unending provision of thoughts that I can create space. I can admit that I have spent so much time with imposter syndrome, neglecting these creative parts of me because all of my energy and identity have been invested in the story of Goddess Aspen—her story, her lore. There is no real humanity in that, no real existence in being so one-dimensional.
In Retrospect…
I want all of my fans to know that while I enjoy this character I have created for you, there is a puppet master behind her. I trust that my true fans are intellectually esteemed enough to swallow the dichotomy of that reality. So, with that trust that I now have in you, read my fucking book! Haha! I will remind you to get my first novel, which will be completed soon, sometime in the future!
As for the new sci-fi novel I am writing, if you have been paying attention, there was a brief time I started making sci-fi porn audios. These audios remind me of the creative time I was in, and I made these around the time I wrote the first book of the SBU series. If you would like to listen to my sci-fi porn, click here, here, and here.
The novel I am writing now will take much longer and will be written under a different pen name that I will not be disclosing at this time. However, my hope for this particular novel is for it to become a movie because it is integral to the times we are living right now. Who knows, we may be able to travel to the stars one day. Hahaha.
Here is a sample of my first sci-fi series:
